Why Commission a Stationery Designer?
Commissioning a designer to produce your wedding stationery may seem like an expensive option but you might be surprised at just how reasonably priced it can be. Many designers have ranges priced at around £1.50 - £3.50 per invite and you could even have a set of one-off, bespoke stationery designed if you wish.
 There are many retailers who are able to cater for your wedding stationery needs and although they offer a wide range of designs you may find it hard to find one which fits in with your wedding style or theme; so you may decide that you would prefer something unique to you and your individual ideas.
If you would prefer to have an individual design as opposed to the ready-made or DIY options, the advantages of commissioning a designer to create your stationery may far out way going it alone.
Whilst it may sound like a great idea to create all your own wedding stationery, it can sometimes be a very time-consuming and stressful if you're not sure what you're doing.
As well as invitations you may wish to have RSVP's, order of service, menu & place cards (venue may supply these) and thank you cards. If you have say 100 guests to invite, the amount of individual items you need will mount up and getting each one to look the same may prove a little difficult. A stationery designer on the other hand will be used to working with large numbers and will ensure your design is recreated perfectly throughout your range of stationery.
When it comes to the printed inserts, you can use any word processing programme to create them yourself - but you need to know how to do the sizing and layouts correctly otherwise you may find it quite difficult to get right. A designer will be able to do all this for you and should also be able to add your guest names into each invite and you could have the envelopes printed too, saving you a vast amount of valuable time. You could even commission a calligrapher to add that personal touch to your invitations and envelopes.
A designer will be able to do almost everything for you; all you need to do - once you've decided on a design - is supply the necessary insert details and guest names and then relax, knowing that your personalised, unique stationery is in safe hands.
